Hi everyone!
Hope this finds you well! There are a couple of exciting things coming up for the HoneyRose Foundation over the next month or two.
Today we received a lovely letter off a gentleman from Wiltshire that we managed to arrange a Special Wish for. We sent him to Thruxton to meet the Kawasaki Race Team.
‘Dear Christine,
I cannot thank you enough for organising such a wonderful day for me at Thruxton.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself and the team, even the racers, made such a fuss of me!
I sat with Alex Lowes (one of the riders) for lunch!! It truly was a great day. I haven’t had such an enjoyable day for such a long time, and it was great to be able to take two of my closest friends too, something that we will all remember for a long, long time. I actually felt ‘normal’ for a couple of hours that day, which I cannot tell you how amazing that is.
Me and my family thank you so much for what you have done, and please let us know how we are able to make a donation. It really has made us all think twice about putting money in the collection buckets when we can… your work is amazing.
Once again I thank you for such a great day, and as you can see from the attached photos, I thoroughly enjoyed myself… bet you can guess which of these is my favourite!! Ha ha.
Thank you,
Ian.’
As you can see from the pictures, it does look like Ian quite enjoyed himself!

A few other Special Wishes we have coming up are:
A gentleman from Derbyshire and his family will be going to the RAF Cosford Air Show and then for a meal.
A lady from Worcestershire will be going to Royal Ascot and staying at a hotel.
And a lady from Merseyside, along with her family, will be having a mid week break at Towyn.
It’s always so nice to hear back from people and to know that their Special Wish lived up to their expectations, and with your support, we can keep on helping make these Special Wishes become a reality for people.
Our Coffee Mornings at Mash Café are now a regular event, and this is always on the last Thursday of each month, at 10am. Mash Café is based on Haydock Street, just off George Street, in St. Helens town centre. We’d like to thank Kevin for being so generous as to let us use his premises, and also for being so kind with his donation from these mornings.
And please, don’t forget to put our Fun Day in your diaries! That’s on Sunday July 17th, at Ruskin Leisure Ltd. on Ruskin Drive. This is always a really, really fun event for all the family and with lots going on to keep you entertained. It’s £1 for adults to get in, and children get in free.
Now, it may still seem a little early, and we’ve been selling tickets since March, but our Christmas Party Night takes place on December 10th at the Devonshire House Hotel. Tickets are £35, and include a meal, a disco, and musical entertainment and also a comedian. There are discounts for larger parties, but it is advisable you organise this soon, as tickets have been selling for quite a while now. The evening promises to be a lot of fun, and you’re helping the HoneyRose Foundation at the same time.
Another project that’s underway is the HoneyRose Foundation Recipe Book. We are looking for our supporters to basically donate a recipe, and then just give us a few sentences on why this recipe is special to you. Maybe it makes childhood memories come flooding back because your own mother made it for you, perhaps it’s something you picked up on a holiday, or maybe you simply think it tastes delicious and want the rest of the world to know! Either way, all contributors will be given full credit and also a free copy of the book once it is printed. If you think you’d like to donate a recipe, please send it in an e-mail to rebecca@honeyrosefoundation.co.uk
For all you Saints fans and collectors of other Rugby League memorabilia, we have a very special auction to help us raise funds for the HoneyRose Foundation. We have the signs and the Players’ gate from Knowsley Road. All items have certificates of authenticity from the stadium. If you are interested in owning this rare bit of Saints’ history, then you can place your bids by ringing us on 01744 451919. Bids for each of the signs start at £50, and bids for the gate start at £75. This auction will run for 2 months to give everyone a fair chance to view the items and to place their bids.
Anyone who’s in St. Helens, or is able to get to St. Helens, then why not come and grab yourselves some summer bargains? In our Hall Street shop, all our clothing items are just £1 each! As well as clothes, we always have quite a large array of bags, shoes and other accessories. And if you’re looking for furniture, toys, books, CDs and DVDs, there’s a large selection of all these things over at our Barrow Street shop!
As always, I would like to say a massive thank you to EVERYONE who helps the HoneyRose Foundation. Everything helps us keep on running and being able to keep on providing these Special Wishes. Whether you’re spending a pound in one of our shops, doing a sponsored event on behalf of the HoneyRose Foundation, or giving some kind of donation to help us fund the Special Wishes, EVERYTHING counts.
And finally, for those of you who don’t know, I am going to be doing a Parachute Jump on July 23rd! I’m really excited for this, but nervous! If you think you would like to sponsor me, advertise this event or even pick up a form to help me collect sponsors, then please contact the HoneyRose Foundation on 01744 451919, or call into our Hall Street shop. Thank you so much to those who have already offered sponsorship! Our very own Secret Millionaire, Charlie Mullins, has already sent me a very generous donation of £10, so I, and everyone here, would like to thank Charlie and all at Pimlico Plumbers for their kindness.
Thank you all for your support, and for reading.
Best wishes,
Lynn Duffy.
