Hello everyone! This is our very first blog. I will just recap a little, i will tell you a few things that have happened to us from 12/12/2009, when we were invited to Charlie Mullins (our Secret Millionaires) Christmas Dinner Dance. Myself and five volunteers went to London as guests of Charlie and Lynn Mullins along with two other charities, John holt Cancer Support Group and Longlane Garden Centre. The Event was Pimlico Plumbers Christmas Dinner Dance , everyone we met there was warm and friendly. All the staff who work for Charlie and Lynn, their family and friends, numerous celebrities, too many to mention, but a great time was had by all.
While we were in London our Christmas Fayre was held at Sankey Valley Rangers Station which was set up and looked great. The volunteers said the Rangers from Sankey Valley were fantastic. A big thank you to all who helped on the day.
14th January 2010 - The move for our new charity shop is the 27th january. I have asked Jaguar/Landrover if their Community Team will help with the re-decoration of the new premises. Over two weeks , two teams of six came out to help take a studded wall down. An electrician came in to move wiring from the ceiling, they put shelves up and painted and decorated the downstairs. The second week, the second team came and painted the office and store rooms. What a great bunch of guys they were, what a great job they did, we would never have been ready without them. Thank you, you were brilliant.
The end of the second we had a team from St. Helens Chamber who came to help with the stock move. They were also great another big thank you to them. We now have our second shop up and running. John our volunteers co-ordinator has been great organising staff rotas and also doing pick ups and deliveries.
2nd February - I am on my way to see Charlie at Pimlico Plumbers. I met Scott and Leslie Cahill, Scott is walking from Huyton, Merseyside to London to raise money for us. What a lovely couple.
13th February - Ladies Night Fundraiser, Roaring Twenties. It was a great night, duo fab, disco fab. Cllr Terry Shields Mayor of St.Helens has done our disco for the last three years, he is fantastic. The food was lovely but the turn out was not as many people as we thought. Everyone who went said they had a great time.
This week we are interviewing for fundraisers through St. Helens Chamber Future Jobs Fund. Successful applicants will be with us for six months. One weeks later we have four new fund-raisers Daniel, mark, Lyndsey and Sarah. They have never fundraised before but they are very enthusiastic. I am sure they can help make a difference.
Through future jobs we also have Robert who has pt all our accounts onto a spreadsheet, he is a godsend. We also have Kerry, Admin and Ian, Logistics. Thank you to St.Helens Chamber and Futures Jobs Fund.
24th March - Today is the official opening of our Barrow Street Shop. It is being opened by Michael Straughan Operations Director from Jaguar/ Landrover. Michael came with some of both teams who had helped to decorate. He uncovered the plaque and stayed to have a look at the shop and the office and chatted to the volunteers and staff. Thank you to Michael and everyone who came.
Today i had a meeting with St.helens CVS, i went with a new student who is on placement with us from Chester University, her name is Nicola. A few events have been booked today for the coming year. We are going to be very busy this year. We have booked a Ball, Summer Fayre, and many more up to now. Lots have letters have been sent out also today. a very busy day in the office had by all.

Saturday 27th March at 1pm and we have come to Huyton where Scott Cargill is starting his 190 mile walk. We are joined by a small number of family and friends who are here to wish Scott good luck on his journey. Scott is hoping to cover 25 miles per day. Danny, one of our new fundraisers, rang a few hotels to see if we could get some free accomodation for Scott and his wife Lesley. Chapel House Briars Gate, Warwickshire donated a night stay on Tuesday, The Kings Thorpe Guest House, Northamptonshire donated a free night Wednesday and The Premier Inn, Milton Keynes donated a night in their hotel on Thursday. Other hotels were booked by Scott and Lesley for the rest of the walk, we would like to thank all hotels that have supported Scott. Thank you.
We are having another busy week in the office also. Chris our Special Wishes Co-ordinator is very busy booking various special days, we have had some very nice letters of thanks aswell. Lovely heartwarming letters from applicants that we have sent away.
Sunday i drove down to Chiswick with my husband Billy, Son Adam and his Girlfriend Shelley, to meet Scott finishing his 190 mile walk. A cameraman from Chiswick Life TV, a local t.v Station came along to interview Scot and myself. If you would like to watch this then go to www.chiswicklife.tv on Wednesday or Thursday and it will be showing then. After this freinds and family went for a buffet at Carvossos where Scott told us all about his journey. Scott gave a heartwarming speech and told of his worst day on his journey where he couldnt find a toliet or anywhere to have any dinner, that was his hardest day. Thank you to everyone who sponsored and supported Scott and a big thank you to Scott and his family from us all at the HoneyRose Foundation. Thank you.

Hi Everyone it has been an eventful week we have had lots of donations which i am going to list here for you to take a look at. Chris our special days co-ordinator managed to get two free tickets to a Beverley Knight concert at the royal Albert Hall, they were given to us by Beverley Knights Management Team and used for a special day. We would also like to say thank you to our contact at Arsenal Football Club for helping with match tickets and meals for 3 families.
Last week we were all very happy to recieve a kind donation of £500 from Niko the Dog and Christos. This was sent completely out of the blue and made the whole office smile, there was a lovely letter along ith a photograph of Niko the Dog and a cheque. Niko and his owner are from Greece and it was really nice to hear that our work is appreciated all over. We have wrote a letter back and hope to hear a reply soon. Thank you to them.

A few weeks ago before we started this blog we recieved a telephone call from a local company called Glassbond. It was coming to the end of their financial year and they had a bit of money left over to donate to a local charity. They were impressed by what we did as a charity and decieded to choose us. They donated £2000 and we were very grateful, thank you all at Glassbond.
Also i have an events list which includes, Barn Dance, Sportspersons Dinner, Autumn Ball, Summer Fete and Dragon Boat Race. Hello Everybody,
It has been a while since i updated my blog i have been so busy with lots of different things.
First of all i would like to thank a few people i would like to thank Ray Thorpe who made a donation of £500 to the charity. His wife Rita was our very first applicant who had a ride in a helicopter for her special day. Thank you Ray you always remember us well. Also we would like to thank Phylylis and Steve Robinson who donated £40. There has been a sum of £207 raised by a lady called Nicola Purnell who works for Alliance and Leicester Bank, the bank are going to match fund that amount so we thank them all very much.
Scott Cargils sponsored walk from Huyton to London has raised nearly £5000 so far on his web page on Just Giving, it closes down in July so if you want to donate to him you still have a chance.
We have some great news that we are going to join forces with the Millenium Centre in St.Helens for a couple of fund-raising events this year, one being the Garden Fete 10th July. We are really looking forward to working with them.
Training is being provided by a company called Skill Pledge myself and Kerry the Secretary will be going along to take advantage of this oportunity to gain extra training.
We have a backlog at the moment of over 20 applications and we really need to find some funding from somewhere to help these families. Any ideas from anybody would be gratefully received.
Thanks Lynnx

Hi Everyone
I spoke to Charlie Mullins this morning and updated him about all thats been happening with the charity. Charlie is going to come to our Autumn Ball in October it will be lovely to see him. Charlie is still a constant support to our charity with regular contact with us for example he has added a link to our blog from his own Twitter page.
Today we became more technical by setting up our new Twitter page with help from Natalie at Pimlico Plumbers. We are getting the hang of it slowly so feel feel free to start tweeting at anytime.
We have recieved two donations today being a £400 grant from the Duchy Of Lancaster Benevolent Fund and a £25 donation from a local gentleman. We would like to say thank you and that every donation is gratefully recieved.
There has also been plenty of special days in 2010. We have had special requests to Everton FC where the applicant and their family had a fantastic time. We have also sent applicants away to Haven, Centre Parcs, Ribby Hall and Albany Lodge. The thank you letters and photographs that we receive are incredible.
If there is anything that you can do to help and support us then that would be fantastic.

Hello,
Today i had a couple of meetings which i thoroughly enjoyed. Myself and Kerry had a meeting with Alan Duffy from Masterprint, we discussed new packs and leaflets for the Charity which is all very exciting.
Also had another meeting with Lisa at the Millenium Centre organising the event plan for our Summer Fete. Everything is going well and we are all really excited about working together.
Also had a nice chat with David Williams CEO from the Willow Foundation, it is always nice to catch up with him. David had a huge amount of praise for the work that we have done and we have nothing but admiration for David and his team.
The fund-raisers have sent out lots of letters to various companies for raffle prizes and auction items for our many events that we are holding this year, fingers crossed we get some great prizes.
Chris our special days co-ordinator has come back from a nice relaxing break in Turkey and has been organising specail days to North Yorkshire, Cornwall and Centre Parcs. Lynn has also arranged a break for an 85yr old lady to Albany Lodge in Bournemouthe. Everybody is really looking forward to their special days and we look forward to hearing from them afterwards.
We are really looking forward to our Autumn Ball where Charlie and Lynn Mullins and hopefully more from Pimlico Plumbers will be coming. Its always good to see Charlie, Lynn and team it promises to be a good night.
Billy and I went out to pick up items for the charity shop as we had no van driver that day and the van started to make a really loud noise. We thought that the driveshaft or cv joint had gone. Limped back home and Keith the mechanic looked at it and it turned out to be that the four nuts on the wheel of the passenger side were really loose. We could of had a nasty accident as the wheel nearly fell off........there is a god after all : )

Also i went to Knowsley Skills Academy to present a couple of the pupils with certificates for helping out at the Family Fun Day. They were a great help and used their spare time to help us. Hi Everyone,
We have had a very busy week here at the HoneyRose Foundation. We have had lots of application forms in and booked lots of special days.
A lady has been to Gibralter Point today as her last wish, all she wanted was to smell the sea breeze one last time. We arranged for East Midlands Ambulance Service to pick her up from hospital and take her and her two sons there. We hope that they have a day to remember which i am sure they will.
We also organised for a lady from Liverpool to enjoy a trip on the Orient Express with her friend. A young boy of eight from South Wales will be a mascott for Cardiff City Football Club on 21st August as a last wish for his mum, we look forward to hearing from them after the event. This week we have also provided a young family with a day out at Chessington Zoo and a match at West Ham United. We hope that everyone enjoys their special days together.
Today i have been to a meeting with the Worshipful Mayor Neil Taylor who had lots of ideas and it was a very informative meeting. We discussed different ideas and ways of moving forward and i look forward to meeting with him again.
On 21st August we are holding the Dragon Boat Race which is a sponsored event. Last year the HoneyRose Foundation came 2nd so hopefully this year we will top that. Last year it was a fantastic day and everyone who came had lots of fun.
On the 22nd August Lucy Dawber from Halifax is holding a funday for us. Lucy approached us via email and the event is going ahead and sounds fantastic. I will be attending also so this will be a busy weekend for me which i am looking forward to.
We are trying to sell tickets for our annual Autumn Ball which is to be held at the Devonshire House Hotel in Liverpool. hello everyone,
today i had my phone stolen from the shop in Hall Street, this had all my contacts on from throughout the years and i am lost without it. Friends, family and business contacts all gone. I hope that someone with a heart will bring it back and hand it in as i really am lost without it.
On Friday me and Chris took the train down to Birmingham to the John Taylor Hospice where we met all the staff and told them about all we did at the charity. We had a good day and took lots of information and photographs of various special days down to show them and also to give them a better insight into what we do. The staff were friendly and made us very welcome.
We have had a couple of donations over the past few weeks which include a £200 donation in memory of a young man who sadly passed away and a £100 donations from the Masons in London. We have also just noticed that we have a couple of donations pages set up on the Just Giving website which is fantastic, we would like to thank the people who have set up these pages and would be very grateful for anymore donation also.

August 25th 2010
Hi Everyone,
Unfortuanatly this has been another bad week for myself. After last week when my mobile phone was stolen i thought maybe things would get better, but they havent. Yesterday i decided to take the day off work to catch up on some housework after a busy weekend at the charity shops and a fundraiser in Halifax. I had to come into work late afternoon to pick up a message and by the time i got home the house had been ransacked and a car and £1100 money stolen. This money was saved up to take my grandchildren away and now we cannot go. I count myself to be very lucky in life after the work i do and the stories i hear, i have my health and my family but this just doesnt seem fair at all. Hopefully the police will catch the thief and the car and money returned but i am very doubtful.
We went to Halifax on Sunday for an event which was kindly organised by a lady named Lucy Dawber for us. I took my grandchildren along and they thoroughly enjoyed the day as did we all. We are still unsure on the amount that was raised on the day but will keep you all updated as and when we find out. We would like to thank all who organised and helped out on the day for their support, thank you.
I would like to thank all the volunteers who helped transform both charity shops at the weekend, we all worked our socks off to create space and an easier shopping environment for all of our customers. The Barrow Street shop has become an all furniture and bric a brac shop and our Hall Street shop is now just clothes and shoes. Hopefully this will bring in more custom and more money for the charity as we are the best value charity shop in St.Helens.
Special days are coming in everyday and we are getting through them as and when we can. We have funded trips to Alton Towers and Hotels stays, Hot Air Balloon flights, a london theatre trip and Butlins holiday. We hope that everybody enjoys their special days as each and everyone of them are thoroughly deserved.
If anybody would like to do any fundraising for the HoneyRose Foundation then your efforts any size will be gratefully recieved as we really appreciate all the help and support that we get.
Just a reminder aout our Autumn Ball which is to be held at the Devonshire House Hotel in Liverpool at 7.30pm on 2nd October 2010. Tickets are £40 and include a 3 course meal and a full night of entertainment. George Michael and Stavros Flatley Tribute Acts, a magician, raffles, auctions and lots more. Our Secret Millionaire Charlie Mullins and wife Lynda and friends will also be attending, this is a night not to be missed.
If you need any further information about any of the above then please dont hesitate to contact one of our team on 01744451919 or 07838238309.
Regard,
Lynn xxxx

Hi Everyone,
We really need to sell more tickets for our Autumn Ball. This is going to be an amazing night that isnt to be missed, it is held on 2nd October at 7.30pm at the Devonshire House Hotel in Liverpool. We have a full night jam packed with entertainment, George Michael Tribute Act, Stavros Flatley tribute Act, a magician, raffle, auction, 3 course meal with wine on the tables also. Our Secret Millionaire Charlies Mullins and his wife Lynda and a table of friends are also coming along from London to support us and have a great night out. Please come along and support our charity and have a fanastic night aswell. Tickets were £40 but we have reduced them to £35 to encourage more people to come along. We really need definate numbers by the end of this week so that we can start organising table plans and the setting out of the room. If you require any further information then please do not hesitate to contact us on 01744451919 or 07838238309.
Thankfully we had a bit of luck with the car that was stolen from the house. The car was found being drove in Netherton but the criminals were not found and the money hasnt been found or returned. At least we were lucky enough to get the car back but we do have to pay out £170 for a new key to be cut as the keys were not with the car.
I am going away for a well deserved break to Turkey on Friday thanks to great friends of ours, Jimmy and Carol who paid for a ten day all inclusive holiday for our 35th Wedding Anniversary. We would like to thank them so much for being there for us and treating us to this holiday, they are fantastic friends and it couldnt of come at a better time. Thank you both.
Special days are coming in thick and fast and we really need to raise lots of money to keep helping our applicants and to make sure that we dont get a backlog. Any help or donations are always gratefully received so that we can carry on our hard work and provide special wishes for the people who we help.

Hello Everyone,
I am sorry that i havent had a chance to update this blog since i set out for Turkey. I had a fantastic holiday, thanks to my friends and husband Billy and was glad to get back feeling refreshed.
When i returned it was all about the Autumn Ball, which was our main fundraiser and a lot of hard work and dedication went into making it special. It was very stressful trying to sell tickets and a lot of people cancelled when the rugby final was announced for the smae date. People dropped out and i was going to cancel the event but everyone who had paid didnt want me to, they were really looking forward to it, so we went ahead with less than 100 tickets sold.
Saturday arrived and afetr a sleepless night i went to the Devonshire to set up the room with Billy and Tina Langton Brown. The room looked fantastic and we were really impressed by the way everything had turned out. We gave out cocktails and Pimms as a welcome drink to everybody when they arrived and there was wine on everyones table. In the end about 95 people came and the Ball was amazing if we would of filled the room we would of raised alot more than we did but it was a brilliant evening. Everyone who attended thoroughley enjoyed themselves. Charlie Mullins our Secret Millionaire could sadly not attend due to being stuck in Spain because of the air strike and other commitments.
We would like to thank everybody who came and supported us at this event without you all we wouldnt of been able to go ahead. Thanks to the Devonshire House Hotel, George Michael tribute, DJ Tony Lee, Magician Rick, Joseph and Lyndsey Walsh for their ongoing support. Thanks for everyone who donated to us also on the night and a big thank you to Boots in Speke and especially to Steve Mockl who donated £100s worth of brilliant raffle prizes for the night. They were fantastic and made the night really special.
More news to follow tomorrow.
I have plenty more to tell you about.
Thanks Lynn xx

Hi Everyone,
What a busy year we have had at the HoneyRose Foundation?? This year has flew by with lots of good things happening and also a few knocks along the way.
My 3rd Granchildchild Hannah Freya Duffy was born at 10.48am on Tuesday 11th November. Hannah is absolutely beautiful and i am so proud of Adam (my son) and Shelley his partner for bringing her into the world, she is just perfect.
Its the 1st December and my other two Grandchildren Charlie and Tyler are so excited for Christmas as they got to open the first day of their Advent Calender today. I am looking forward to spending Christmas with all my family.
The charity has been extremely busy as alway. We have been busy providing memorable days for our applicants and we have fulfilled many wishes along the way such as weddings, parties, weekends away, theatre trips and meals. This takes us to over 700 applicants and their familes who we continue to help and support.
We wouldnt be able to help as many people is it wasnt for the support of others and we have had many donations and continued support. Parc Farm Caravan Park in Wales raised a tremendous £5500 throughout the year for us and presented it to us at a fantastic fundraising event last weekend. The event was absolutely fanastic and we thoroughly enjoyed it, Parc Farm worked really hard all year round to help and support us and have also promised continued support, we would like to say a big thank you to them.
Many other people have donated also and for this we would like to thank you for your support without your help we couldnt help half the amount of people who need us.
The charity shops are the cheapest in St.Helens and are full of fantastic clothes, books and furniture. We have friendly volunteers who will take time out to talk to you about the charity and help in anyway. We have recently put a television on the wall in each shop so people can come inside and have a look at pictures and D.V.Ds of who we have helped. Our shops have a friendly atmosphere and brilliant stock which everyone comments on when they vist.
We are all getting into the Chrstmas spirit and have high hopes for 2011.
