Monday March 7th 2011.

Hello everyone, hope you're well. We've have a couple of exciting events coming up for the Honey Rose Foundation in the next couple of weeks. One is the Ladies Night on March 26th. (Gentlemen welcome too!) This is going to be held at The Nalgo Club on Bishop Road and starts at 7.30. It looks like it's going to be a fun night too, we've got a vocalist called Daniel Hurst providing entertainment, a disco, buffet and of course a raffle with some excellent prizes. Tickets for the event are £15 and you can either come down to our shops on Hall Street and Barrow Street to purchase some, or contact us on 01744 451919. You can still enter into the raffle even if you can't make it to the event itself, tickets for that are £1 a strip.

But before Ladies Night, we have the St. Helens 10k Run, this happens on Sunday March 20th on Birchley Street car park, so if you're feeling fit, why not take part and run on behalf of the Honey Rose Foundation?

Two gentlemen taking part and running for us are Joseph and Paul. We managed to help Joseph's Nan have one of her Special Wishes come true, so when thinking about what to write for this blog, I was reminded of the lovely letter I received from Joseph thanking us for what we did, and thought I would like to share this with you.

'Dear Lynn and Honey Rose,

I just wanted to drop you a line to express our huge gratitude for all your help in everything you did for my Nan, May, on December 7th.

As you know she is in the late stages of terminal cancer and I had been trying for some time to arrange a day where she could go to Anfield and tour the museum and hopefully meet one or two of the players at Melwood. I had no luck in doing this whatsoever and in fact had failed miserably once already in taking her to Melwood, only for no one to turn up and say hello.

Then we contacted you, and you were fantastic! The whole day was brilliant, the highlight for my Nan was when she met 'Her Lads' as she says, especially Stevie Gerrard and Peter Crouch. Not only that, but then you arranged for a people carrier to take us all to lovely restaurant and presented my Nan with a beautiful bouquet of flowers which was a complete surprise.

She is still talking about that day now, and we took lots of photos, some of which are framed in her room and the rest are in an album which she loves to show people who come to visit her.

Lynn, you know how I feel about my Nan, and I don't have to tell you again, but you know how I feel about you. I feel we have made a new friend, and if I ever can help you out, I will. Because you helped give my Nan one of the best days of her life. You put a smile on her face when she is very ill.

You also made our day too, because it was so good to see my Mum smile again. She's been under such immense pressure trying to care for my Nan on a daily basis which is tough.

I am constantly singing your praises and trying to get the message out there about what a great job the Honey Rose Foundation does and what the charity is all about!

Take care Lynn. Happy Christmas, and thanks again. We will never forget you or our special day!

Jospeh, Karen and May. x'

Receiving letters like this, seeing what effect what we do can have on people and their families makes me so proud of what the Honey Rose Foundation does. And we wouldn't be able to do this without the help of events like the Ladies Night, like the 10k Run.

Please show your support, help us to keep helping people like May acheive their dreams and get granted that Special Wish.

Hope to see you at one of our events, or even come down to one of our shops, have a look what bargains we have in store. Thank you for your support and for reading.

Take care,

Lynn. xx
