Hi everyone!
I hope this finds you well. It's been pretty manic here at the HoneyRose Foundation as we’ve been planning and organising the Family Fun Day that took place on Sunday July 17th. We were hoping this was going to help us to raise some desperately needed funds, and also raise the profile within the community. Unfortunately even after all the careful planning and no matter how organised we were, one thing you can’t account for is the weather! Quite a few people did turn up, but not quite the amount we’d been anticipating going by the turn out last year. We still managed to have an enjoyable day despite the weather and would like to thank everybody who turned out. Currently we’re in the process of organising something else to take place in the very near future, so watch this space!
We've managed to arrange quite a few Special Wishes for people recently. To date we've managed to help over 850 families have their Special Wish, that's about 3000 people so far! Some of our most recent Special Wishes are:
- We managed to send a lady over to Dublin with her daughters to spend a few days of quality time with her sister.
- One lady from Manchester wished to have a pamper weekend, so we got her to a hotel and arranged a visit for her to Castle Howard in Yorkshire.
- A couple wished for a photographer at their wedding, and so we've arranged this for them, and also hope they have a wonderful day filled with special memories.
- One young family will be enjoying a stay in a hotel at Alton Towers and have access to the theme park and the water park there.
- We have also just arranged for a lady to enjoy a 5 day break with her husband in Llandudno.
We receive new applications for Special Wishes every day, and we do our best to get through them as quickly as possible, but please bear in mind, we are a charity. We have to raise our funds before we can spend them. Sometimes some Special Wishes take a while longer to process due to the nature of them and their costs.
On occasion we are lucky and come across some extremely generous companies and people who very kindly donate trips and their services. To them, we would like to say a massive thank you, as this takes a huge burden off us and enables us to get through even more of our Special Wishes.
If you would like to help us in our fundraising, please do contact us. You can e-mail us at rebecca@honeyrosefoundation.co.uk or give us a call on 01744 451919.
There are countless ways to help raise funds for the HoneyRose Foundation. Signing up to websites like www.thegivingmachine.co.uk you don’t actually need to ‘do’ anything. You simply pick the HoneyRose Foundation as your chosen charity, and follow the steps on there for when you do your online shopping. You don’t need to give anything as such; it’s all done for you.
So many websites have been created full of ideas on how to do your own sponsored events, some you can just do by yourself, others can bring communities together. The possibilities are endless and you would be helping the HoneyRose Foundation create even more Special Wishes.
On Saturday July 23rd, I’m going to be doing my parachute jump. Because we’re so busy here organising everything else, I’ve luckily not had time to allow myself to be too nervous! Sponsorship is still more than welcome, and any kind donations towards this can either be dropped in at our office or addressed to: Lynn Duffy, The HoneyRose Foundation, 18 Hall Street, St. Helens, Merseyside, WA10 1DL. You can also contact me at lynn@honeyrosefoundation.co.uk or ring on 01744 451919.

Another event that we have coming up is our Charity Golf Day. Nick Hall at QualitySolicitors Keith Park is very kindly hosting this for us. This is going to be taking place at Widnes Golf Club, Highfield Road on Friday 26th August. There’s also going to be an optional evening meal to follow which non-golfers are also welcome to attend, with entertainment provided by comedian Lenny Anderson and singer Lilli Moore. Pricing for this event is as follows:
A golfing team of four - £200
An individual for golf - £65
Evening meal and entertainment - £30 per head
If this is of interest to you, please contact Nick Hall on 01744 636000 or e-mail: nickhall@kpsolicitors.com for further details.

We’re having our Christmas Party Night on Saturday 10th December at the Devonshire House Hotel, 293 – 297 Edge Lane, Fairfield, Liverpool, L7 9LD. This starts at 7.30 pm and tickets are £35 a head. The ticket entitles you to a three course meal, live musical entertainment, a disco and a comedian. This would make a great night out for your work’s party, and we do have concessions for large groups. To book your tickets, please ring us on 01744 451919 or contact Lynn Duffy at lynn@honeyrosefoundation.co.uk

Thank you for reading, and thank you for your continued support for the HoneyRose Foundation.
Kind regards,
Lynn Duffy.
